SineBata Workshop: A New Chapter in Young Storytelling

Fresh from the triumphs of last year’s SineBata Workshop, ANAK TV is once again rolling out the red carpet for the country’s budding storytellers. The organization is gearing up for another round of video workshops for children—a key pillar of its long-running advocacy for media literacy and child-sensitive content.

The 2025 SineBata Workshops marked a major milestone for AnakTV, as it successfully brought together students from De La Salle Lipa, Kamuning Elementary School, and other partner institutions in what became one of its most inclusive and impactful workshop editions to date. The workshop also made history as it welcomed participation from GMA Sparkle Management artists, inspiring young participants through direct engagement with industry role models.

The SineBata Competition received 112 entries from children and young creators representing Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, showcasing diverse voices and perspectives. Sixteen workshop-produced entries emerged as winners during the SineBata Awards—affirming the effectiveness of the workshop model in nurturing creative and values-driven content.

Looking Ahead: SineBata 2026

Following the successful completion of its nationwide AnakTV Media Literacy Symposiums in 2025, an essential gateway for workshop participation, the stage is now set for SineBata Workshop 2026.

Running from March to April, the program will welcome a fresh wave of young video makers inspired during the 2025 symposium tour.

Participating schools for this year’s workshops include Commonwealth Elementary School (Quezon City), San Francisco Elementary School (Quezon City), Bicol College (Daraga, Albay), Enrique B. Magalona National High School ( Negros Occidental), St. Paul University (Surigao Del Norte), Zamboanga del Norte National High School (Zamboanga del Norte), P. Bernardo Elementary and High School (Quezon City), and Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary (Tagbilaran).

Shaping  the Next Generation of Storytellers

AnakTV is targeting more than 80 new SineBata Workshop graduates this year, across two age groups: Children aged 12 years old and below and Teens aged 13 to 17 years old. Responding to the clamor of students during symposiums of Anak TV, the workshop will introduce classes in video animation, an initiative that would address children’s curiosity about emerging forms of media creation.   

All participants will have the opportunity to develop original video outputs, with selected works qualifying for competition pathways leading to the 2027 Southeast Asia Video Festival for Children (SEAVFC) in Indonesia. 

SEAVFC is an international platform that celebrates child-sensitive, values-oriented storytelling across the region.
